The plane came down at Navestock, near Brentwood, at about 1615 BST, an Essex Police spokesman said. The man and the child were confirmed dead at the scene.

A woman has been taken to the Queen's Hospital in Romford, but her injures are not thought to be life-threatening.

The Air Accident Investigation Branch has been informed and will investigate the cause of the crash.
